Each of you will be presenting the topic assigned to you before the beginning of Tuesday and Friday PE classes. Each of you can present on only one topic, be sure to take notes during presentations as there will be a test! The topics are as follows:

- Strategies for goal-setting and self-motivation Presenting – Friday Nov. 23
- Consequences of bullying, stereotyping, and discrimination – Friday Nov. 23
- Signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression – Tuesday Nov. 27
- Sources of health information – Tuesday Nov. 27
- Ways to monitor and adjust physical exertion levels – health benefits of physical activities – Friday Nov. 30
- Influences of physical, emotional, and social changes on identities and relationships – Tuesday Dec. 4
- Potential short- and long-term consequences of health decisions, including those involving physical activity, healthy eating, sleep routines, and technology – Friday Dec. 7
- Basic principles for responding to emergencies - Friday Dec. 7
- Strategies to protect yourselves and others from potential abuse, exploitation, and harm in a variety of settings – Friday Dec. 7
- Training principles, including the FITT principle, SAID principal, and specificity Tuesday Dec. 11
- Evaluate and explain strategies for promoting mental well-being – Tuesday Dec. 11
- Exploring the relationships between physical activities, mental well-being, and overall health – Friday Dec. 14

- All font should be at least size 18 throughout the presentation /2
- Less than ~50 words per slide /2
- Font colour and style is easy to read /2
- Points are in point-form rather than paragraphs and sentences /2
- Pictures on each slide /2
- No miss spelled words and good grammar /2
- Must look organized and neat. /2
- Add a slide with a link to your article and resources uses /10
- Only using the presentation for notes – not reading off the slides the entire time /2
- Presentation is loud and clear /3
- Facing the class when presenting /2
- Explaining the images on the slides /2
- You will be introducing your topic by first doing an activity related to your topic that will get the students thinking and their brains stimulated – must be active, fun and organized /15
Grade 8:
In pairs picked out for you, you will be leading an activity/game after each warm-up. Your date of presentations will be determined beforehand as well. You can choose any location on the school grounds and your activity must be different than all of the previous groups' activities.
You will be marked on the following:
1) Safety, are the dangers explained? Is this safe for Grade 8 students in the location selected you by? /5
2) Are the instructions clear? Can we hear you? /5
3) Is it fun? /5
4) Does it include everyone in the class? (Does it cater to all skill levels?) /5
5) Is this an active activity/game? Does it get the heart pumping? /5
6) Is the activity at least 15 minutes long? /5
7) Major muscle group that is involved is explained /10
8) Positive attitude, worked well with partner /10
